Kubirriwarra Yalanji announce Language and Arts and Culture funding

We are pleased to announce our successful application for the 2024-2026 Language and Arts and Culture funding round.

The project is designed to celebrate cultural continuance and rejuvenate the Kuku Yalanji language. It encourages intergenerational participation, from very young children to clan Elders, weaving language through a wide range of cultural activities. The project will culminate in a Celebration/Exhibition showcasing the arts, culture, and language of the Kubirriwarra Yalanji Clan-group.

Kubirriwarra Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation, a cultural organisation which represents and advocates for Traditional Owners and custodians of the Port Douglas and Mossman areas, will use their grant funding for a 12-seater people mover.

“This will significantly enhance our ability to contribute positively to the community,” Kubirriwarra Yalanji Chairperson John Hartley said. Read More…
